The Sego Celebration Flag: This Salt Lake City flag represents the history of Juneteenth, our City’s Black and African American residents, and our pride in them.

This new Salt Lake City ‘Sego Celebration’ Flag combines the sego lily’s beauty and resilience with that of the iconic bursting star representing freedom; the arc, representing a new horizon of opportunity for Black Americans; and red, symbolizing the blood shed by those who were enslaved. Its united symbols represent Salt Lake City’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and our celebration of Black excellence.
